The Town Moderator is elected by ballot vote every two years, in even numbered years, and is responsible for overseeing elections and presiding over town meetings.
The Assistant Town Moderator is appointed by the Town Moderator, has the same powers and duties as the Town Moderator, and presides over elections and town meeting in the Town Moderator's absence.
